Trent Heminger leads Trent & Co, one of the most successful teams in the DMV. He specializes in new construction and resales in DC, Bethesda and close-in communities.

Trent has been named one of "America’s Best Real Estate Agents” by both the Wall Street Journal and Real Trends for over ten years straight. Additionally, Washingtonian Magazine has named him as a Top Producer and Top Agent in the Washington Metro area time and again. Trent's team sold more than $173 million, closing over 250 transactions in 2019 and they are on track to meet or exceed those numbers this year.

Heminger began his career in the real estate industry in 2000. From 2003 to 2008, Trent worked as a sales manager for McWilliams|Ballard, Inc. This experience honed his professional expertise in the development, marketing, and successful selling of large-scale condominium communities. As a result, Trent became one of the highest producing agents in the area and consistently closed upwards of 100 properties annually.

In 2008, he moved to TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, where Trent’s business evolved as his clients’ lifestyles evolved, resulting in an increased number of single-family home sales, adding to his existing multi-family client base. Being recognized as part of the Top Team at TTR Sotheby’s in 2010 is a testament to his success and far-reaching business.

In 2011, Trent helped start a new brokerage known as Beasley Real Estate. His business continued to grow throughout the 3 years his team was with Beasley. In October of 2015, he moved his team to Compass.

Trent’s passion for the real estate business, together with his experience, work ethic, and follow-through, has earned him both a great deal of repeat business as well as respect among his colleagues in the industry.

When Trent isn’t doing a walk-thru on a construction site consulting with developers, or helping his clients pick out new light fixtures and paint colors, he can be found driving his twin daughters all over the DMV as they conquer the world of basketball and dance!

After building miniature neighborhoods and cities that spanned his parents' basement floor, Kevin knew he had a keen interest in real estate. Upon graduating from The College of Wooster in 2001 with a double major in Urban Studies and Studio Art, Kevin started working in real estate in the Metro DC Area. He has had an invaluable array of real estate marketing and sales experience with top brokers ever since: first with an established agent in one of the highest-volume offices in Bethesda, then for a top-producing partnership in the Mid-Atlantic and finally with the highest-grossing listing agent in Georgetown before joining the Trent & Company team. Whether selling single-family homes in suburban Maryland, coops and condos in Kalorama and Upper NW or row houses in Logan and Dupont, Kevin has had a varied real estate history in and around DC.

Among Kevin's greatest strengths are his area knowledge (as an area native), his effective persistence, a formal and career-related education in architecture and his easy-going disposition in what can be a difficult arena.

Cassidy believes Real Estate is a tool for the long term. When working with clients, whether they are a first time home buyer, developer, or a long term buy and hold investor, he has one mission, to help YOU prepare for the future. For most individuals, their home is the biggest and best asset in their portfolio he wants to make sure you are making the best decision possible. When we are evaluating a home or a deal, we will be looking at the four most important factors of real estate in Cassidy’s mind:

LOCATION: Where do you truly want to live? Is it a certain school system? Maybe you are a dog person and dog parks are key, OR, rentability to potential tenants.

Potential APPRECIATION: Where are we seeing the largest growth year over year? Again, this comes down to finding the best area possible for your particular price point.

Investment Long Term: Where do we see this asset to be in the future and how is it going to perform in our portfolio. We are looking at the following: Cash Flow, appreciation, tax depreciation, and equity paydown.

EXIT STRATEGY: What is our long term play? IS this our forever home, temporary housing and then plan on renting it out? Or potentially reselling and upgrading once our situation changes? Having the best possible exit strategy is critical!

With the knowledge of the DMV market, Cassidy uses these same strategies as he continues to grow his own portfolio and helping others build wealth through real estate.

Jay Nix

Jay is native Mississippian but has called Washington, DC his home for the past 23 years. He fell in love with real estate after buying his first condo in Adams Morgan in 1999. Even though the search was over, he kept attending open houses and exploring developing neighborhoods. Eventually he found himself spending his weekends helping friends find places to live. So he decided to transition from a career in public relations and television to real estate.

After working several years with another brokerage, Jay joined Compass in 2015, believing the resources offered by Compass would complement his own skills as an agent and help him better serve his clients. Jay is Washingtonian Magazine award winning realtor and a top producer with the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors. He also draws upon his years in television to cover the real estate industry as a frequent contributor on FOX 5 DC.

One of Jay's passions is photography and he loves taking photos around the city. You might also catch him singing at Shaw's Tavern on Wednesday nights.
